This patient presented with a slightly low hairline and a lobular microtia. Prior to the main operation using autogenous rib graft with the Nagata method the skin behind and abide the deformed ear was expanded to allow a high, projecting framework to be placed and so avoid the need for a further procedure to elevate the ear.
